Time displayed is for example Thu Mar 21 12:32:47 EST 2013. I am in the US Eastern Time zone and I have set m0n0wall to use America/New York for the time zone in General setup.

However, daylight savings time starts here on Mar 10 so, at that date the time became incorrect.

It seems m0n0wall's TZDATA is incorrect and isn't changing the clock when daylight savings time goes into effect in my locale.

The reported time should be Thu Mar 21 13:32:47 EDT 2013.

I have no way to reach the BIOS on the machine, so I cannot alter the clock there.

I expect this will correct itself on Mar 31 when most of the rest of the world switches to daylight time.

I guess that means SixXS tunnels will not stay up.

Not sure I understand the connection.

If your system clock is not synchronized to network time, the aiccu tunnel will collapse without notifying you. Also, ntpclient will not correct your time if it is not close to correct.

OK, thanks for the explanation.

I do wonder though how many m0n0wall users are located in the affected time zones and how many of those are also SixXS users. It would seem to me that we would have heard about this problem by now from such affected users if in fact their tunnels were not staying up.

My m0n0wall's clock seems to be tracking time well, to the minute anyway, even though it's one hour off, and I don't see any errors in the log related to ntpclient.

Same problem here with 1.8.1b538

Still showing CST not CDT and time is one hour off.

However, 1.34 is showing correct time zone and time.

Hopefully one of the developers will see this and fix it for us.

A bit surprising to me that 1.34 doesn't have this bug and 1.8.1 does.

Fred:
you were right. IPv6 tunnels are working fine with the new beta.

Well, not sure what the problem really is but I was waiting for March 31 to roll around to see if my m0n0 would switch to Daylight Time along with the rest of the Northern Hemisphere where this is the customary date for switching from Standard time. But m0n0 didn't budge.

So, it's going to take a developer to look into this for a fix.

In the meantime I'll find a different time zone to the east I can set it to get correct time in the logs.

Interesting - the time displayed on the traffic graph is correct.

 Huh

Note to Developers:

If you want to encourage users to report bugs, it would be helpful if you would take the time to at least acknowledge the thread.  Something as simple as "Thanks for the report" would be great.

Fixed in the latest beta 1.8.1b539.

Thanks Andy!
