Please Help….
I’m new to this.  I have a little experience with the 4801, but needed to upgrade in order to get the 1000gb NIC.
Here’s what I have;
Rack mount – 6501-50
SanDisk 8gb Cruzer fit

I just got this in the mail last night, April 24th.

I’ve installed M0n0Wall 1.34 onto the SanDisk and it seems to have installed correctly.
I used the embedded-1.34.img and renamed the “embedded” portion.
Here’s the command line I used to install it:   physdiskwrite –u –d 1 net6501-1.34.img

When I plug in the console cable and boot up, I can see everything boot and I do get to the Menu.
The LAN seems to already be configured – I see LAN IP address: 192.168.1.1
Also, I see two ports configured – sis0 LAN and sis1 WAN

Here’s my questions and issues.
1.   The “ready” light is not on.  Never comes on.  Shouldn’t this be on?
2.   The “error” light comes on during boot, but then goes off.  I’m guessing that is normal?
3.   I cannot log into the webGUI.  Page not found.  Unable to PING it.  Yes, I have given my PC a static IP of 192.168.1.10/24
4.   NIC adapter port lights go green when I plug cable in.
5.   There are 4 ports and only 2 show up in the console when booting.  Is that normal?  How do I configure the 2 that are missing?

Ideas?  I’m at a loss and need to get this in production to replace the 4801.  Please help ASAP.

Thanks,
Frank

Just in case there's any question as to what I'm installing this on, it's a Soekris 6501-50.

OK... I got the answer.  Here's what worked.

The Soekris 6501-50 needs the newer image.  generic-pc-serial-1.8.1b540.img

Install it the same way you would the older version.
