I've read through almost all of these postings and I'm just not sure if Monowall can pull what I want it to do or if I need to drop the $ on an appliance. Please let me know if you know how to do this with the product.

I have a web server that has a static IP address now and can be accessed from the internet by the following scheme - blackserver.white.com

I'd like to put it behind a monowall but still be able to access it through blackserver.white.com - do I need to set up a 1:1 NAT or what???

please help or direct towards documentation that is simple and could help.

Thanks!

An inbound NAT entry should do it, no need to use 1:1 if you're only running a single server on your LAN. Be sure to also create a firewall rule on the WAN, which you can do automatically when creating a NAT mapping.

As for DNS, just setup your DNS entry so that blackserver.white.com points to mono's WAN IP address. Mono also supports dynamic DNS, see the "Dynamic DNS" page in the "Sevices" menu of your mono's GUI.
