Hi,

does anybody know some faster hardware like the alix2d board. but the same size? because the alix2d has problems with 100 mbit downstream. I only get 24 mbit because the hardware isn`t fast enough.

greetings

There was some talk about a new ALIX board to be released in late 2013 that had GB ethernet ports. I am not sure of the status.

Maybe you can contact the PCengines folks and see what they say.

If you can go just a little bigger, the Atom boards will do 100 just fine.  They actually can get close to gigabit.  For example, http://www.logicsupply.com/computers/solutions/firewall-networking/fw100b/

I have called pcengines today. at the moment they have a beta test for this board http://pcengines.ch/apu.htm. they told me it would be a litte bit mor expensive than the alix boards but they can`t tell me if the monowall will run. the atom boards are fine but to expensive.

That looks like a nice option!  It all depends on cost, however. Smiley

I'be extremely surprised if the new board will not run m0n0wall. I just can't see PCengines abandoning that segment of their market.

Hi,

Have you looked at Soekris boards ? The net6501 family (http://soekris.com/products/net6501.html) should be able to answer your needs.

The size is nice, but for the money I would rather go with a general purpose Atom system.
