Hi there

I've been using Monowall successfully for many years now. I've been asked if it is possible to schedule to block all traffic at specific times, for example block all http traffic from 11pm till 5am etc. I saw there was a post back in 2008 looking for port blocking on a schedule and "it had been added to the wishlist", but there were no further comments.

Many thanks.

Hi,

In 1.8.1,  there's no firewall related job in the scheduler.
There's a command execution job. Maybe can you use that one to issue ipfw commands...

It was my intention to implement this functionality. I decided to stop my effort after I realised that I could only do this in a very hackish way similar to the "Traffic Shaper" jobs.

However, it's not hard to implement this, especially because the "Traffic Shaper" jobs work in pretty much the same way. It's a task that mainly requires diligence.
