If I am running off a CD and need to upgrade to 1.8.1 do I still need to go to 1.34a first or is that for devices running with M0n0 embedded or using CF? I ask because I don't see any ISO for 1.34a.

Upgrading to 1.34a only applies to installations to CF or HDD.
