One of my favorite things about m0n0wall (of the many) is the single XML config file. I have a couple of ideas for it:

* When backing up, it would be great to have the ability to choose the filename pattern from a couple of options, or a custom pattern, or the same name every time. I'd like to use SVN to store my configs and the current naming scheme makes that a tough one.

* Any thoughts about the ability to import sections of a config file? I realize that would be a bit of a pain, and offer the potential for catastrophe, but it might have some benefits for experts when migrating from one machine to another.

The recent post about a NAS got me thinking about the ability to connect to other servers behind the firewall to automatically backup the configuration. Might be helpful.
