Hi--

Long time user of m0n0 here.. been looking at pfSense for awhile but it doesn't run too swiftly on my wrap (takes over 4 min to boot vs 39 seconds for m0n0 1.3b2, not to mention responsiveness of web gui).

There has been talk for quite some time on the pfSense forums and support lists regarding trafficshaping while bridged. Apparently, pfSense lets you configure it, but Scott/Bill/etc are saying that it just doesn't function.

So, the question is, is m0n0 capable of shaping traffic on a bridge? If so, what versions? I currently have 1.3b2 on my wrap for the wireless support (OT:where's the WPA support? Wink I'm not worried about the support from the WIZARD (gonna manually config it), just whether or not it is possible to configure AND have it actually work.

Thanks!

Hi We use M0n0wall to simulate a wan - by creating a bridge to a third network adapter and then creating a pipe for all traffic between the bridge opt1 network adapter and the LAN interface.  We can control the bandwidth, delay and add some loss if required.  This is all under the pipes set-up.  I have anotehr post asking how effective m0n0 is as a WAN simulator , but as yet no answer.

Thanks,
Matt
