Did you use the -u flag?

Thanks for the reply. now for the dumb question. How do you use the u flag. I read the instructions and tried several different combinations but was not able to get it to work.

If you follow the link above you'll see the example thus:

physdiskwrite [-u] generic-pc-xxx.img

The [] brackets denote that the -u is optional, but in your case necessary. Therefore, you will type

physdiskwrite -u generic-pc-1.231.img

or

physdiskwrite -u generic-pc-1.3b2.img

if you are using the beta image.

Post back to let us know how it goes.

I guess I need to know when and where I enter this information. I was trying to use the Physwrite routine by pulling the img to the physwrite program and when it asked which disk I would try to enter this information and could not get it to work. It just kept asking what disk to write to. I know this is a simple solution I just can't figure out where to enter the information.
I appreciate your patiences.

If you're using WinXP then open a command prompt by clicking on "Run..." then typing "cmd". In the command prompt type the full path of your physdiskwrite.exe, for example:

c:\Documents and Settings\Me\Desktop\physdiskwrite.exe -u generic-pc-1.231.img

You may have to type the full path of the img as well, ie:

c:\Documents and Settings\Me\Desktop\physdiskwrite.exe -u c:\Documents and Settings\Me\Desktop\generic-pc-1.231.img
