I'd like to use m0n0wall to shape our traffic for our small IT office environment.  We are using Asterisk for VoIP phone service and we have a TISP to provide in and outbound calling.  We use a 6000/768 dsl circuit which a speedtest shows at about 5200/626.  I figure Magic Shaper Wizard is a good place to start.  I used the 5200/626 as the up/down speeds for the shaper wizard.  Is that correct?

Next, after the rules are generated, is there value in adding a rule that prioritizes UDP traffic from the Asterisk server?  I added a rule for UDP traffic to be prioritized in the "m_High Priority #2 Upload" queue.  Does that sound right/useful?  Thanks.  -- Bud

Hi,

I did almost the same for my LinkSYS VoIP adapter, except that i have put all trafic from it into "m_High Priority #1 Upload" and "m_High Priority #1 Download"....... Smiley

I would like to have any advices on this....  Grin

My final purpose is to make sure my VoIP adapter always gets the about 100kbps upload and the same in download when making a call..... But how to achieve this is, for now, is beyond my knowledge.....
