When connected to our network within our network I can connect to the VPN fine.  When I'm outside our network and try connecting I can't connect and keep getting Error 678 in the windows vpn.  This makes me think it was a rules problem.  I followed the direction in 9.5 of the manual and I'm running the version 1.231, but at this point I'm not sure why it not working.  My PPTP VPN Rule is setup to:

Proto: TCP (changing this to any didn't seem to work either)
Source: *
Port: *
Destination: *
Port: *

Any help in getting me to connect VPN (PPTP) from a different internet connection would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

UPDATE:  Hopefully this will help.  It seems now that when I log into the VPN from a computer within the network I then can connect to the VPN from a computer outside of the network, but only when I opened port 1723 to go to the "server address" 192.168.1.254 (again I still have to connect to the VPN froma computer from within the network first before I can connect from a computer from the outside).

set protocol for pptp to any. set you remote network to an ip of 10.0.0.0,192.168.x.x or 172.16.x.x-172.31.x.x and set you local (where your at) to a different one, this should work if i understand your problem correctly.
