Just wanted to ask if someone ever tried  that ?
It's not a geek challenge, just that I happen to have here a simple PCMCIA Adapter for Compact Flash Card and a Texas Instruments 1410-based PCI to PCMCIA Adapter

I run m0n0wall on a PIV compaq but I'd prefer to have my config on CF than on floppy, floppy reminds me of too much broken backups...

A cf card in a pcmcia card in a pci slot? Nice.

As to whether you can boot from this, wouldn't that depend on the specific hardware involved? I would recommend connecting the equipment in question, power on and enter your bios to see if the cf card is being recognised as a drive. If yes then you're probably in luck.

Normally people use IDE to CF adapters in PC's. Like clarknova said, if it detects it as a hard drive, you should be set.
