I downloaded 2 different versions of the generic pc image and both with the same result.  i use physdiskwrite to put the image onto a compact flash card.  i have a IDE to cf card adapter in the computer and everytime i try to boot to the card i get the same error that it cannot locate the device that has the config.xml file and that m0n0wall cannot finish booting

Booting from SD card (512MB) located in reader connected via USB.

Everything is fine except, every time booting I get past 'Mounting root from ufs:/dev/md0c' I get:

 kern.coredump: 1-> 0

***
* FATAL ERROR
* The device that contains the configuration file (config.xml'could not be found...

Playing around with DMA, USB and other BIOS settings only got things worse - begun to get page faults again. However this revealed some more detailed information - something like this: Attach to device (00:00:00:00) faiiled; Removing device (00:00:00:00) from list.
It was impossible to get more detailed information because of automatic reboot within 15 secs.

Disable everything unnecessary in the bios.
It worked for me.
