m0n0wall Forum - Monowall Praise and Choosing a Firewall Solution

Monowall Developers,

I recently installed Monowall for the first time on my home network. Just two computers and a wireless access point. Everything has worked flawlessly and the ease of use is just simply outstanding. I was able to get v1.3b4 (using cdrom and thumb drive for config storage, I didn't have a spare hard drive but I had a 512 MB thumb drive I wasn't using

) up and running in under ten minutes and was adding static dhcp and forwarding ports in no time. Thanks for such a great piece of software!

To anyone who is reading about which firewall platform to try out:

I did a lot of research and browsing many a forums before I finally decided on giving monowall a try. I do not regret it for one second. If you are tired of your SOHO routers (linksys, netgear, dlink, etc.) always crapping out, or having to reset them constantly, or being unable to forward ports, connection resets, etc.) I highly highly recommend monowall. It has been amazing for me so far and I will never go back to a SOHO router again.
