Hi All

Must say this forum is the best thing eva. Here is my problem hopefully somebody can help. I'm have a 384K/192K connection via PPPOE.

I've got the Traffice shaper enabled with share my bandwidth evenly ticked, with the shaper enabled with 384K down and 192K up.

When I connect through m0n0wall with only myself on the network the connection speed varies from 16K/21K with full downloading around 31/32K. I will never get my full speed.

I've I take my PPPOE connection to my laptop and download the same stuff I get a full connection of 46K constanly evenly the whole time.

Even with my traffic shaper off, the problem persist. If changed my MTU size from 1492 to 1454 to 1400 with no results.

I tried both 1.23b1 ( which worked in the past ) and new 1.23 with the same results. Also I see with the new version the CPU spikes every now and the to 100% for 1 or 2 sec's, this is not the case for 1.23b1, but the problem stay the same.

m0n0wall: Compaq Deskpro EP PII 300Mhz, 128Mb, 4.3G HDD, with 2x Intel Pro100 NIC's.

Please help.....! Cry

my test setup is an 'old' 200mhz cyrix box with 3 realtek nics connected via pppoe on an bridged alcatel 510. normal i have an cisco pix 501 but can't really see any speed difference between them.

check your box if there are any interupt problems with your nics. check your cables and use ethereal to check if you get any trouble on your network.
