According to the Aliases page:

"Aliases act as placeholders for real IP addresses and can be used to minimize the number of changes that have to be made if a host or network address changes. You can enter the name of an alias instead of an IP address in all address fields that have a blue background. The alias will be resolved to its current address according to the list below. If an alias cannot be resolved (e.g. because you deleted it), the corresponding element (e.g. filter/NAT/shaper rule) will be considered invalid and skipped."

I can not find ANY fields that have the blue background?  The only blue background fields I find are in the description fields... am I missing something?

Thanks!

NAT and firewall rule pages are two I can think of offhand, maybe others.

If you're using the Google Toolbar with autofill, or some similar software, it may fill in those fields in yellow, which would prevent you from seeing the blue.

If you have 2 network on you m0n0wall you can separate it and block between network by aliases name or network  on your Rule
Ex;

Firewall: Aliases
Name    Address                 Description
Office    192.168.0.64/28      Range(65-78) /bc79
Net1    192.168.211.64/28    Range(65-78) /bc79
Net2    192.168.211.32/28    Range(33-46) /bc47

And then in Rule can block source for aliases Net1 to Destination source Net2

Will the alias work in the Allowed IP address section of the Captive Portal?  The Description field of the Allowed IP address section, has a blue background.

I wasn't sure, since the Alias is set up in the Firewall section.
