Hi,

I'm pretty sure my gateway should be the same as the IP I get from the ISP and .1 at the end but instead, it displays my LAN's gateway...

Any way to fix this?

To force the right GW?

Thanks

Simple pc/mono between router and adsl modem.

Mono servs as GW for LAN, providing dhcp and dns, connecting via pppoe to the ISP.

Isp provides static IP and DNS.

When I connect mono through pppoe, WAN receives the proper IP, dns and subnet mask but the gateway is set to mono's LAN IP.

Let me know if i understand you correctly.
Your harware is connected like this :

LAN------m0n0-----router-----adsl_modem

Is your m0n0box handling the PPPoE stuff or your router? I'm not sure to understand what the use of the router is. m0n0 could do the job, no?

The router is an adsl modem... The router part is disabled. So mono does the pppoe. But doesn't get the proper GW when doing so.

The gateway comes from your ISP. You shouldn't be getting private IP space on your WAN from your ISP.

It sounds like your modem is doing the PPPoE and passing off a private IP via DHCP WAN, but you said that's not the case.

Mono 's getting a routable address from the ISP but the gateway is a non routable one, 172.20.20.1 whcich is its internal address.

So I ain't getting the non routable gateway from my ISP.

So there's no way to force a gateway?

PPPoE should get a /32, and show a gateway of its own IP.

Well thanks, we finally changed ISP.

Getting dhcp instead of PPPoE. And its working perfectly. Tag this as complete.
