Ok I'm trying to find a workaround and think monowall might be a solution, just need to know if this will actually work. I live in a apartment situation where the landlord share a cable connection with a few apartments. Unfortunately the connection is provided by comcast who's provided router will only serve 5 IP addresses. To get around the problem I'm looking for a router than can pick up a wireless signal as it's WAN connection, and then DHCP to a lan. Is Monowall capable of this?

yes. The monowall will only use one of the 5 comcast ip addresses and route all your traffic through it.

But can it do so over wireless? I need it to be able to hookup to the initial comcast router wirelessly.

I guess a better way to put it is Monowall capable of being a wireless G wan to lan router?

I think so, though I have not tried it.  You would need a compatible wireless card and the assign it to be the WAN interface.  Configure card in the Wireless Card page to connect to the Landlord's AP.

Thanks for the post! I'm gonna give it a shot, I've got a older laptop with a pcmcia atheros card. I'll let you know how it goes!
