Hi,

I setup a PPTP server and I'm accessing on a MAC (10.4) from home. I can log in and get to my office network with out a problem, but when I log in I loose access to the public internet until I close the VPN connect.  My office is on a 192.168.1 subnet and my home is on a 192.168.10 subnet so I don't think there is a conflict there. Is there anything else I should look for?

Thanks,
-marc

On windows i have a similar issue, which is not a real issue in fact.

When remotely logging in to my m0n0 using PPTP, all of my internet trafic will go through the PPTP link....... I think your issue is more Mac OSX related than m0n0 related.

By Default PPTP tunnels will set the default gateway to ppp0 which is the pptp link. This means that ALL traffic will go thru the VPN. This is different from IPSEC which only encapsulates "interesting" traffic (the subnets in question). In other words, this is completely normal. If you can't get to the internet, you either have advanced outbound nat turned on and no corresponding nat translation for PPTP, or your m0n0 is behind another firewall which is not letting the m0n0 out to the internet. On OS-X hit shift-apple-u, and in the utilities folder find terminal, then in terminal type netstat -rn to see the routing table. The routing table should tell you where everything is going.

Good luck.
