I have just recently had a huge botnet attack. I would say around 100-200 computers attacking me at once with packets galore. Is there any way that i could set up my monowall to defend against that, or at least redirect the traffic. This attack really slows down the internet to the point of nothing loading. If you guys have any suggestions of oppinions. Please feel free to post them here, I would gladly appreciate the help on this topic. Thank you.

Unfortunately, I don't believe that there is any particular way to prevent Botnet attack.  An article I read here says that your only hope is survival.  Unfortunately, even though your firewall blocks the traffic, the packet have still arrived at the router and thus saturated your bandwidth.  If this is a continuing problem, you could ask your ISP to change your IP address.  If they are coming at it by resolving a DNS entry, is changing your host name a possibility?

Oh, the Dns is not a problem at this moment, I always use a third party Dns for my hosting when it comes to sites, etc. The only method i found out that seemed to be helpful is, redirecting the traffic, even tho it still eats part of ur bandwidth.  Not entirely though. Or use a secondary connection with a second monowall box also helps. There only temp solutions at this moment. Still am trying to find more permanent solutions.
