I've been trying to get this to work to no avail.  Have m0n0wall running on a Dell PowerEdge 350.  I have fxp0 for LAN, fxp1 for WAN.

My connection is via Comcast's business account.  Business is 8mbps down, 1mbps up with 5 static IPs (x.x.175.41-45, /29 mask .46 gateway).  I have the WAN interface setup static with ip 175.45, /29, 175.46 gateway.  LAN interface IP is 10.0.0.5.  If I set a workstation to use .5 as the gateway that workstation can ping 10.0.0.5 and ping the .45 but can't ping anything else.  For testing the firewall has rules allowing everything in and out.  My friend who uses m0n0wall said the modem has to be set to bridge, so I called Comcast and they did that then it was even worse, I couldn't get anything out on it.  Had them revert it back to the way it was.

So now on the m0n0 console I can ping .46, I can ping on the LAN but I can't get outbound.  Anyone successfully getting m0n0 to work with Comcast business and the SMC modem?

I have two sites working with monowall. One static and one dynamic ip. For static All I was told by Comcast is set the monowall to your static IP address and make sure you know the correct gateway. I think it is the first or last address they gave you or the public ip address of the cable modem. I use opendns for dns service in monowall and uncheck use ISP Overide for DNS.

I just had to do this and it literally took 2 hours on the phone with Craptast.  I have over 30 m0n0walls in production and I have never had this much trouble.  You just have to keep at them.  You will have a static IP set in m0n0.
