Hello,
i’m new to m0n0wall. I have a PC with 3 Networkcards.
The first network card is for DSL (WAN).
The second network card is for my PC (LAN).
The first and the second network card are working.

My problem is the third network card. I want to use this card for my xbox 360 to go to the internet. I adjust the third card as optional 1 interface. But it can’t get an IP-address. I also tried different configurations for the optional 1 interface, but i don’t find the right thing. Can somebody help me ?

Not sure what you mean the interface doesn't get an ip address or the x-box, so.  Once you assign the NIC to be Opt1 interface, it will appear in the Gui under interfaces. Click on it and it will take you to the configuration page for the interface.  Enable it and give it a IP address.  Make sure that it is a separate subnet than that of your LAN.  If you want DHCP enabled on this network, click on DHCP server under the services section of the GUI. Now that you have set up the Opt1 interface, you will see a tab for this network.  Enable the DHCP and specify a range.  lastly, you will have to enter some rules in the rules page.  Optional interfaces do not have any default rules so you will have to decide what to put in.  Remember that the rules are applied in turn, so you need to make sure you put them in the correct order.  For example if you wanted to give complete access to the internet but block all access to the LAN, you would need 2 rules, a Pass Opt1 to Any and a Block Opt1 to LAN at the top.  This way the block to LAN is processed before the Pass to Any.
