Hi,

I'm using german adsl provider 1&1, which, like many other ISPs here, disconnects the adsl line after 24 hours ("Zwangstrennung").

For whatever reason my m0n0wall does no more automatically connect, I have to do this manually now.

Anyone else? WTF???

TIA
Michael

It appears that the default retry behavior changed in MPD 4.x, and the documentation is not entirely clear about it, but as it appears, the "set bundle disable noretry" option is now always required to get MPD to reconnect automatically after the connection has been dropped.

I've created a preliminary image (1.3b10-pre) with just this fix for you to try:

http://m0n0.ch/wall/downloads-local/net48xx-1.3b10-pre.img

(those images are not digitally signed; no other changes since 1.3b9)

Thanks - I've had this 'failure to reconnect' problem for several days now (I assume since b8), I am in Ontario. I'll try b10 and see if things improve.

I installed the preliminary image this morning before going to work. I will look tomorrow morning if it reconnects after the daily 24 hours connection drop.  Smiley

It seems that this pre release is working fine. It reconnected this morning after the 24 hours delay. Cheesy Cheesy

I upgraded to v1.3b10-pre.

Dial on demand doesn't work at all for me.
I enabled it and set the Idle timeout to 7200.
All machines, except the switch, on the LAN interface were turned off for more than two hours,
so no outgoing traffic should have occurred, but nothing happened in m0n0wall, no log entries.

Also when I click on the Disconnect button on the Interfaces status page, the connection is closed but immediately reopened.
Log entry: mpd: [pppoe] Last link has gone and no noretry option, reopening in 3 seconds
[update]In former beta versions the line was kept closed.[/update]

I'm not sure if this is related but I'm running 1.3b9 on a net5501 and have the WAN set for DHCP (comcast cable modem) and when I click on the DHCP Release button, it chanes to Renew but my Internet connection keeps working.  This may be normal behavior for m0n0wall, but seems a bit strange to me.

Dial-On-Demand and manual Disconnect still don't work in v1.3b10-pre on my WRAP.1E-2.

It's been 13 days now and my m0n0 is reconnecting correctly every 24hours using this pre release.
Manual connecting/disconnecting is working fine to (generic pc image).
