Hello Together

The situation:

I have a VMWareServer on Linux (V1.0.4) and there are some linux clients inside.
Also there is a m0n0wall client who acts as firewall between the linux clients and the other network.

so, my wan address on m0no is 192.168.1.5/24 and the
lan interface is setup with dhcp in the range 10.1.1.0/24.
everything is working great, i can connect from the 192.168.1.0 net to the linux
clients though NAT rules and between the linux clients...

But there is one BIG problem. NFS wouldn't work any more.
This is since the linux clients stay's behind the m0n0wall.
I have an other server (IP=192.168.1.6) where a NFS Server is running.
Before the linux clients are inside the lan network of the m0n0, they had also a 192.168.1.x address
and it worked fine.

the Block private networks option is unchecked!

my exports file has only one line: /mnt/directory *(rw)
i've restarted the nfs many times with: service nfs restart and there are no errors...

the i try to mount the share there is also the following message:
[root@bobby mnt]# mount 192.168.1.6:/mnt/directory/ /mnt/directory/
mount: 192.168.1.6:/mnt/directory/ failed, reason given by server: Permission denied

is there a log file why the permission wouldb be denied?

all the directorys for mount and so one are existing.

im happy for every help Smiley

best regards
bobby

I think if you are getting a permission denied response from the server, it is a permission issue on the NFS share.  It has nothing to do with monowall since you are getting a response from the server.

You may have an allowed hosts list or the ownership of the folder is invalid.
