Hi,

I want to connect 2 networks using a Gigabit Switch, first one is for servers, second one is for workstations, both are in their respective VLANs, so I need the maximum performance for Servers VLAN, I will use Mono for setup the trunking (in the trunking port will pass all the trafic from VLANs because of trunking), my question is: if all interfaces are Ethernet Gigabit and I need that the servers get the maximum rate transfer, which interface I must use for the trunking device (m0n0wall), fiber? which kind? which standard? which connectors? I don't know so much about fiber. what do you recomend?, which switch can do the job without pay a fortune?

Best Regards,

Taguapire.
