Unable to access GUI interface.

Hello all....
I have a monowall server that works just fine, however, when I point my browser to monowall's local IP (192.168.0.254) it shows that user and password box. No matter what I do it wont let me in, even after reseting the password via monowall console (option 3).
Can any body shed some light?
THANKS A LOT!!!

Hi,
I could not know, once it was not me who set it up. However, if the internal IP address is typed with http, the password box is shown and if is typed with https, nothing happens! It makes me think that the https has not been set up.
Thank you!

That´s ok :-)
Well, already typed all sorts of combination of User Name: admin , Password: mono. I have tested entering only the password with an empty username box, etc... This realy is geting nasty... I need to set up a few rules for a new email server and some vpn accounts but this "little" detail is holding me back.!!
Tahnks again mate!

unplug your m0n0wall's LAN cable and try it again. if you still get a user name and password window, you have another device on your network set to the same IP address as your m0n0wall.

Hi ChainSaw.
Done that, and I get an error message. If the lan cable is unpluged I can´t even ping the IP so the possibility of a doubled IP adress is checked out! Furthermore, just to be sure, I ran a cross-over cable from my laptop direct to the lan port and the problem continues!!
Im running out of ideas here...... I thoght in installing a new monowall in a new computer and then I could try to copy de the old config file onto the new machine, not sure if its possible.

I would save your config then do an option 4 (resets everything to factory defaults) on the console menu and see if you can login with "admin" and "mono". if you can, restore your config and see if you can login. if all else fails, reflash your CF card and then restore your config. if restoring your config kills your logion, use the console menu to reset your usename and password to default. if you still can't login after all that, it must be something in your config causing the problem. in that case, do an option 4 on the console menu and rebuild your config from scratch.

Oops! I guess I wasn't thinking to clear
I haven't done it myself but I think you can mount your CF card on a linux or bsd machine and copy the config file off the CF card.
