Hi there,

my m0n0wall PC has an 160 GB HDD installed as primary IDE master. I can't physically disconnect it since it is used for weekly backups.

Is there any chance to spin it down when using m0n0wall from CD and FDD? I want to save as much power as possible.

Thanks in advance!

In the Advanced menu under Miscellaneous there is an option for this, that I believe spins down the HD:

Hard disk standby time
Puts the hard disk into standby mode when the selected amount of time after the last access has elapsed. Do not set this for CF cards.

Maybe this is what you were looking for?
