Hello,

I am unsuccessfully trying to ping and access (webbrowser) my ZyXEL 652 router(192.168.1.1) behind m0n0wall (192.168.0.7).

Therefore I hoped that the following static route would make it possible to access the router in the other subnet...

System: Static routes
Interface      Network      Gateway:   Description:
LAN      192.168.1.1/32   192.168.0.7

(I tired the same route with the WAN-interface..)

Questions:
What am I doing wrong?

Thank you very much in advance for any help!

John

At the moment the following rules are active:
LAN
Proto   Source   Port      Destination   Port   Description
TCP/UDP   LAN net   *      *      137-139   NetBIOS Block
TCP/UDP   LAN net   *      *      135   NetBIOS Block
TCP/UDP   LAN net   *      *       445   NetBIOS Block
*   LAN net   *      *         Default LAN -> any

WAN
Proto   Source   Port      Destination   Port   Description
TCP   *   *      LAN net   80(HTTP)      Allow HTTP to LAN subnet
TCP   *   *      LAN net   443(HTTPS)   Allow HTTPS to LAN subnet

You may want to consider using the method here instead:

Thank's a lot fredg for the helpful informations: I am pretty sure that without that informations I would never have been able to setup m0n0wall....

Nevertheless it's not yet working (for sure due to my limited knowledge of subnetting :-(

According to http://wiki.m0n0.ch/wikka.php?wakka=AccessingModemOutsideFirewall  I did the following steps:

# ifconfig vr1 inet 192.168.2/24 alias
- Interface=WAN
- Source=192.168.0.0                   (is that IP correct??)
- Destination=192.168.10.0/24     (is that IP correct??)

The IP's of my current network are the followings:
- internal IP of m0n0wall: 192.168.0.7
- machines in my network: 192.168.0.1 / 192.168.0.2 /192.168.0.3 /
- IP of the ZyXel router: 192.168.1.1

Any additional help (especially about the source-IP and destination-IP) would
be mostly appreciated. Thank's a lot!

John
