Hi,

I recently found out about m0n0wall and decided to give it a try and i like what i am seeing so far, but i have a few questions.

First let me describe my layout:
Internet into WAN on monowall, then two other nics, 1 for lan, out to switch for main distribution of network, then i would like to have the other nic, (configured as opt1 and bridged w/ LAN) go to my Linksys WRT54G v.3.1 router running DD-WRT. monowall is running the dhcp server for the lan.

So my question is how should i configure m0n0wall and my DD-WRT to allow for my wireless router as a access point, but w/ access to my lan side of the network?

When i try to just have monowall bridge w/ lan and plug into wan on wireless router w/ router configured to pull dhcp from server i can connect to the wireless, just no network or internet.

Thanks in advance,
Alex

simple enough, just need to hook to one of the lan ports (not the wan port) on the linksys. disable the dhcp server on the linksys and set an ip in the same subnet as your network but not in the dhcp pool . Might not be required, but mine had login issues using a completely different ip address not in the same subnet, but i'm using an old linksys 11b router, pre-linux firmware.

as for the wireless settings you can set them as you like. router will act like a bridge between wireless and cabled.

works great, i used to seperate my lan and wifi with 2 nics in my monowall but realised it was a bother for me and didn't really need to seperate them, plus my linksys has 4 lan ports, hooking up my 2 monowalls, server, and a cable going to another switch all together.
