So I setup my m0n0wall yesterday, first time using it, was easy, nice, i'm liking it, I have used other firewall/router distros, but i'm really liking this one, except the webgui is open to WAN,

I changed the webgui to HTTPS. Set rules to block port 443 on WAN interface. It still seems open to me.
any help how to close it?  I am using m0n0's default firewall settings . Just had noticed that http://myip brought me to Webgui. so tried moving to https and closing the ports. nodda.

i'm using the newest stable version.

I'm still trying. I really don't want this open to the web. Google found me nothing. thanks again all

Sounds as you're trying from the LAN side, not the WAN. Traffic filters on the WAN interface apply to traffic coming in over the WAN interface. In a default configuration, access to the WebGUI from the WAN side is blocked.

are you sure you are accessing the WAN side of your firewall, if you are accessing it from the LAN side it will most likely interprett the WAN address from your side.   If you actually try and access from a PC on the other side it may give a different result.
