I'm using m0n0wall 1.3b15 as a lan router and as a wireless router. Strange things happend on the wireless network: while on the lan network I can open www.speedguide.net on the wireless network i can't opened it. Other webpage works on, but there are a few pages that work on the lan but don't work on the wirless network.

For lan i'm using a realtek 10/100 network card and for the wireless network (OPT1) i'm using EDIMAX EW-7128G (supported by m0n0wall 1.3b15 cause it's supported by default by FreeBsd 6.3).

In the firewall on the OPT1 I have the same rules set as on the Lan. Based on this I think that all the pages that work on LAN should work on OPT1 but it seams that it's not like this...

Here is the ping from webgui:

PING speedguide.net (66.230.207.58) from 86.124.226.136: 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 66.230.207.58: icmp_seq=0 ttl=44 time=155.238 ms
64 bytes from 66.230.207.58: icmp_seq=1 ttl=44 time=155.359 ms
64 bytes from 66.230.207.58: icmp_seq=2 ttl=44 time=156.818 ms

--- speedguide.net ping statistics ---
3 packets transmitted, 3 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 155.238/155.805/156.818/0.718 ms

And here is the ping from one client of the wireless network:

Pinging speedguide.net [66.230.207.58] with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.

Request timed out.

Request timed out.

Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 66.230.207.58:

    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

It gets the ip of the host on the client but nothing more... Anyone have an ideea on how to make all the sites work on the wireless network? In my area this is the only wireless network and the signal is at 99% so there should not be signal problems.

EDIMAX EW-7128G is using Ralink chipset. FreeBsd drivers for Ralink chipset aren't stable. I bought a wireless card based on Atheros chipset and all the problems are gone now. Smiley

Hi can you use the captive portal on wireless?
I have also an Atheros 5212 but captive portal does not want to work... Huh
