I was wondering if there was a way to configure m0n0wall to block iPhone traffic from a network.

I know that iPhones will have a host name of "iPhone" in it, so I was curious if there was a way to create a rule to block any host with the name iPhone in it?

Any suggestions?

Monowall doesn't look at host names, just IP addresses.  The only way that I can think of, is if you know the MAC addresses of acceptable clients, you can configure the DHCP to deny unknown clients and list the known MAC addresses in the list.

I guess what I was looking for was a function that was a bit too specialized.

Since I am running a public hotspot and am unable to bock unknown mac's.

Any other suggestions?

if there was a way to block a range of mac address then you could, since all the iphones should share the first 3 double-digits, just like any manufacturer that builds network gear, they own their range of addresses.
