Hi all,

I ran through the PPTP setup as per the documentation's instructions.  I can connect to the VPN from the outside via a network connection on my Vista laptop.  It asks for my username and password as you'd expect, and assigns me an IP.  Once logged in, though, I can't talk to any inside IP addresses.  I think the problem is that when I do an ipconfig for the VPN connection it says the default gateway is 0.0.0.0.  From the documentation:

"You will also see the PPP Adapter with the name you gave the VPN Connection when performing the steps in the last section. It should have an IP address that is in the range you defined for the PPTP Server. It should also have the subnet of 255.255.255.255 and it will be using itself as the default gateway. Just live with it; it is how it works."

For some reason, I'm not getting the default gateway assigned when I log into the monowall.  If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

Having the same problem.
Some googling revealed that it is a Vista issue. Found several workarounds, but no real fix.
Good work, Microsoft.

My solution is this batch file:
route delete 0.0.0.0
ipconfig /renew

Run after establishing the tunnel.
Might not work for you, others got it fixed by disabling IPv6 for the PPTP tunnel.

Same problem, nothing helped. Could this be some kind of Win problem? I'm getting same behavior on winxp and win7 machines.

One common reason for this is forgetting to add firewall rules to permit traffic from PPTP clients...
