I would like to do the following.

In a browser i want to type for example "gog" and have it automatically be pointed or redirected to www.google.com

Another example would point the word entered to my local web server "shophome" --> localhost

Can this be done with some sort if custom DNS entry and how would i add this to m0n0wall

What you are wanting to do is create a Cname DNS entry.  Unfortunately Monowall does not have this functionality.  The DNS forwarder only has basic functionality which you could create an alias and point it to the google IP address.  The is a bit clumsy though if google change their IP address or are load balancing.
