This is my first step using monowall and my first topic in this forum i hope you can help in this issue.

I found  monowall today googling for a good router software.
i have installed everythings ok , configured lan and ports and eth0 , i could ping google.com from wan port and i can ping local lan from lan port so until now everythings ok.
in my office i want to setup at this way and i couldnt solve it until now.
i have 2 groups in my office group 1 is only allow to use msn messenger for communication i want to block all other traffic like http , ptp , windows updates , group number 2 is allow to use msn and http browsing but not ptp or files download as zip or rar or mp3.

I'm not sure that monowall is exactly the right product for your needs.  Some of what you want to do is easy as it is a simply case of port blocking, but most of it is really content scanning.  The downloads you mention all come in over http and monowall does not look into the type of traffic.  You would be better of with some kind of proxy server.  Have a look at pfsense, a similar product to monowall but with slightly different aims.  Also Endian, they do an opensource version of their appliance firewall which includes a proxy server built in.
