Hello,
I have a question.  I'm currently running M0n0wall on Nokia IP120 and its been running without any issues for 2 years.  I just activated Optimumonline boost and decided to test my speed.  So far i pinpointed speed issue to Nokia but I just want to find out if my findings are correct.

Boost speeds are 30/5 download/upload
So far I tried the following:
Direct connect my macbook pro to cable modem and i got 32/5.15

M0n0wall on Nokia IP120 as a firewall - 20/5.15

I also installed M0n0wall on my P4 desktop with Dual Intel gige NIC and my speed was 32/5.15

Am I correct to assume that 20Mbps is maximum attainable throughput on my IP120?  I think I ruled out modem issues.  I'm just trying to make sure that this is a hardware limitation and not something that can be tweaked within M0n0wall.

Thanks

Alex

It's likely this is a hardware limitation. IIRC, the IP120 is a small entry-level embedded device. Also quite old. When it was made, I doubt they thought it would ever be handling speeds like that. The higher level IP series models do handle higher speeds. I myself have an IP440 which I can get 200Mbps out of through two gigabit LAN connectors although the company providing my Internet as part of my accommodation only gives me 512kbps so the IP440 is sort of overkill for my situation.
