sorry, some people may find this annoying but the docs are not 100% cleat to me as to:

1. can I use any x86 PC with min 64mb ram and min 500 mhz processor (and network cards of course) for m0n0wal machine?
does m0n0wall have to run from a cd or can i set it up to run from hdd?

m0n0wall runs best from a CF card but can also run from a HD or a CD and floppy.  Also, you might be OK with 64 MB of RAM but I would suggest you go with 128.

I don't know where the 500MHz processor spec came from. I run mine on a Pentium/P55C (166.59-MHz 586-class CPU), very typical of the type of machines that were thrown away in the trash years ago.
