Hello everyone.

I have a domain DNS server setup at home, and m0n0wall is my firewall / router.

I am in the process of setting up a small website with a free domain from No-IP.

Example: mysite.no-ip.org

My static IP address from my ISP would be:

IP ADDRESS: 123.345.567.789
GATEWAY: 123.345.567.789
DNS.. etc..

I have m0n0wall setup as: m0n0wall.mydomain.no-ip.org

Lets say my domain is mysite.no-ip.org - when i open nslookup and query google.com the following response is given:

Querying Google:

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: google.com.no-ip.org
Address: 85.242.25.143

Querying Yahoo!:

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: yahoo.com.no-ip.org
Address: 85.242.25.143

Querying Microsoft: (Different Results)

DNS request timed out.
timeout was 2 seconds.
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: microsoft.com
Addresses: 207.46.197.32, 207.46.232.182

(Same query as above but this time it returned microsoft.com.no-ip.org with an address of 85.242.25.143 - same as other failed querys)

what is your client os and it's ip settings (linux/bsd = /etc/resolv.conf , windows = ipconfig /all)

It looks to me like you client is adding no-ip.org to the query

Client is Windows

IP Address is static as follows:

dns suffix search list: mydomain.no-ip.org
                                  no-ip.org
