I am experiencing regular interruptions of Wi-Fi service via my monowall router. When I'm connected via Wi-Fi on my laptop, my IM client (qip) regularly (once in 30 minutes, maybe?) pops up a message saying that it is disconnected from server; then reconnects. Long file downloads are being interrupted sometimes.  It never happens when I'm on wired; router works fine for me for weeks. It happens on both of my Windows laptops, even if I'm in the same room as the router. On the other hand, I have no trouble to connect even at the room furtherst from router. Windows' wireless singal meter shows 5 bars in the closest room 1-2 in the furthrest; that corresponds to around -50 dB and -80 dB according to my portable level meter ( ;)iPod touch 4G with SBTools)

I have installed the latest version of monowall embedded (1.32, then 1.33b2)
Computer is generic PC: Celeron 1000, 512MB RAM, CF-IDE adapter, TP-Link wireless card (don't remember the model now, chose it according to FreeBSD hardware support list)

CPU usage doesn't cross 30% even in hardest usage situations.

How can I find out what causes my problems with Wi-Fi?

Hi, I really don't know, sorry for not helping You.
I can tell You that my m0n0wall is installed on ALIS board with the Wifi module, and no problem.

There's no a second possibility to make a good first impression.

Many things could be in question...
Are You using captive portal on the WLAN interface?
Is the captive portal configured to be too restrictive?
Check the hard timeout limit for user sessions.
However even if this is the case, it still doesn't add up 100%...

Does anyone have any suggestions regarding the problem?

My old wireless card was TP-Link TL-WN651G (Atheros). I changed it for ASUS PCI-G31 (Ralink). On first glance, the problem persists (there are regular WLAN interruptions).

I'm running the latest version, 1.33 embedded.

How do I check the hard timeout limit for user sessions?
