My config file is stored on a floppy disk.  I am able to access the floppy disk on another machine and view the config xml but when trying to access the gui I get the following error.  XML error: mismatched tag at line 296 I have tried by copying the config file onto a new floppy disk but I still get the same error.

I still have internet connection through the firewall.

Without seeing that line and perhaps the whole relevant section of the file, I don't think anyone can help you.

What will you need, the whole config file?  I had a look at line 296 and even removed the whole rule that covered 294 to 298 and loaded it back onto a new disk, restarted it via the console screen and I still get the same issue.

If I change the config on the floppy disk and then put it back into the machine and restart it by console press 5, will the new config be looked at, or do I have to do something else to get the new config copied over?

I don't think we would need the whole file, just the section where the problem is supposed to be. But if you do post the whole file, remove any username/password stuff.

I don't know how the version of m0n0wall that stores the config to a floppy works. Rebooting it would certainly cause the floppy to be read.

294      <rule>
295         <protocol>tcp</protocol>
296         <external-port>3420</external-port>
297         <target>10.19.0.134</target>
298         <local-port>3389</local-port>
299         <interface>wan</interface>
300         <descr>RDP for Ben</descr>
301      </rule>

I have added the line numbers to the above they are not on the xml.  Any ideas?

Ok this problem is now all sorted, I needed to turn the computer off by the power button and then back on again for it to load the new config from the floppy disk, restarting via the console menu didn't seem to do it.
