Bad SSL Cert - Cannot login

Hope someone can help me. Running monowall version 1.23b. It's configured for https only...port 80 is disabled. I tried loading a new chained certificate and key, saved, rebooted.... Now I can no longer login. Obviously the web server won't start due to some problem with my new certs. Can't login using http or https. Is there any hope to recover from this without resetting defaults?
Everything else is still working, just can't login to fix ssl certs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Mike

Just in case this might be useful to anyone else, here's how I fix the problem.
Borked monowall was running from cf card, so I captured a disk image of the cf card (using dd under linux).
Created a new virtual machine and installed FreeBSD. Transferred disk image of borked monowall to freebsd virtual machine. Mounted the disk image under freebsd using the mdconfig method. Edited the conf/config.xml in the disk image and removed the ssl certs and key. Saved config.xml, unmounted disk image, and transferred disk image back to linux box.
Again using dd, updated cf card with fixed disk image. Done. Now I can access the webgui again.

Been a very long time since I ran 1.23. But isn't there some way to change it from https to http on the console?

I think there is, under the reset webGUI password or something, I can't quite recall where it was...
