I am running monowall v1.33. The past few days I have been seeing the following in the log:
kernel: arplookup 169.254.150.xxx failed: host is not on local network

Then, I get the following message a bunch of times:
last message repeated 10 times

Is there a way I can figure out what device is generating that lookup of a host that isn't on the local network?

My network is 192.168.1.x so I'm not sure what would be trying to lookup that ip.

Thanks.

IPs in 169.254/16 are link local addresses that are assigned when an adapter is trying to get an IP via DHCP but fails to do so.

I'd start looking for an adapter configured that way.

APIPA, a user was not able to obtain an address via DHCP, so it got auto self assigned local non routable IP.
