Hi,

can anybody tell me, why i can't get a carrier?

formerly it worked very well (lately i used the fritzbox) but now i can't get a signal!?

i use the current version, kept the default settings... i even took over the mac-address of my fritzbox although i know that this was not needed before  Huh

btw, i have a wrap-board with 3 ports and w-lan card

i would be very thankful for a few tips to solve this very annoying problem  Angry

and sorry for my eventually bad english

Can't get carrier on what, your Ethernet interfaces? Are you using the proper cable, straight or crossover depending on what you're connected to?

thx for reply

the problem is the wan-interface with a dsl-connection (pppoe) and i have the same straight cable as on my fritzbox... and there it works just fine!?

Ok, with a PPPoE interface, that must mean your PPPoE username and password is wrong.

You do have link light on the interface, right?

Then you're using the wrong type of cable (some devices have auto-MDI/MDIX ports so you don't need to use crossover cables, which may explain why a previous device worked and WRAP does not), or you have a bad NIC.

A bad NIC i think is pretty unlikely cause LAN works perfectly on all 3 ports , the crossover-cable was a good idea but unfortunately it shows no effect to me.  Roll Eyes

Could it possibly be that there's any difference between a normal ISDN-box and an UAE-box which i used before (i had a little trouble with my connection some time ago which resulted in  just changing the box)?

Merely i can't test that at the moment...

however, many thanks for your help!

You are plugging it into an Ethernet port and not an ISDN port, right? It sounds like whatever you're plugging it into isn't Ethernet if you don't get link light with a straight or crossover cable, but can get link on that NIC on the LAN side.
