Hi Guys,

I have been using Monowall for years, after initially using Smoothwall I found monowall to be so much better.

One issue I have always had is that we use many monowall VMs within VMware ESXi, and I find it really annoying not having the VMware tools installed within the VMs.

I can't do a graceful shutdown directly from the vSphere client, and the vSphere client doesn't show the hostnames, IP addresses, etc.

Is there a way of being able to install the VMware tools into monowall? Or is there an OVA (VMware template) somewhere with the VMware tools pre-baked into Monowall.

Thanks heaps

Radek

No.  You would need to build a custom image with it installed.

a pre-built appliance exists, although it's an old release AFAIK ->
