When I go to Interfaces (assign) LAN and click on the Secondary IPs tab, I don't get to where I expect. The browser winds up at http://router IP/index.php Same result with any interface that has the Secondary IP tab.

I see this across numerous versions of Firefox and IE. Running the latest of both. I have had this problem in versions of m0n0wall since the feature first appeared.

Does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?

That's where it links to. Even if I put that URL in my browser by hand, I still wind up at

https://192.168.1.2/index.php

What version are you running?

I'm running 1.3 release PC-generic, goes to the screen that it should on mine.

Running 1.3 release, but as I said, since the feature first appeared in earlier betas, it failed the same way. And I have reported this before.

Is it related to the NIC? The reason I ask, I just checked about 6 monowall machines all running the 1.3 release for PC-generic and their hardware varies alot (between Intel, 3com, Realtek, Netgear, Linksys, etc.) and none of them had this issue.

They were upgrade straight from 1.2X series.

All three NICs in the box are RealTek 8139 10/100BaseTX.

For some reason this box will not stay up with 3Com or Intel NICs - it's a rebootomatic. Only the RealTeks have been stable.

I don't see where in the code of that page it can redirect you to index.php.

Can you reset you config to basic defaults and maybe run headerspy in firefox or wireshark to see how you are being redirected ?

I reset back to factory defaults and it now works. I then restored my configuration from a backup and it immediately broke. Must be something about my config that is causing the problem. But i have no idea what.

Can you try from defaults just configure the NICS and nothing else and see does it happen ?

Hi Fredg,
I was the same problem, in my case that works only if I use the default admin user, with another administrator account   create by the menu user manager,   it doesn't work.
( my configuration Alix 3 lan interfaces, m0n0wall 1.3 )

Ding ding ding....BINGO. Thanks pat2003.

I can conform this behavior. Logging in with username: admin and Secondary IPs can be configured. Logging in as another user and Secondary IPs cannot be configured.

I believe this is a genuine bug.
